Today, Democrat Lisa Blunt Rochester announced an "Economic Agenda for Women and Families," an eight-point plan to level the playing field for women and make sure all Delaware families have the opportunity to succeed.
"As I travel the state, I hear the same familiar stories from women across Delaware who are balancing work and family and struggling to make ends meet," said Blunt Rochester. "We have a GOP-led Congress that doesn't understand women's lives and is decades behind in family-friendly policies. When women succeed our families succeed and I'll fight every day in Congress to give Delaware families a fair shot at success."
She is the first candidate in the race to put forth an economic agenda for women and families. The plan includes:
Equal Pay for Equal Work
Affordable Childcare
Guaranteed Paid Sick Days
Supporting Women-Owned Small Businesses
Raising the Minimum Wage
Paid Family and Medical Leave
Safeguarding Social Security and Medicare
Protecting a Woman's Right to Chose
