Tell Congress: Immigrant Children Need Lawyers!

Can a three-year-old represent themselves in court? It's hard to imagine, but the Department of Justice believes they can.

As the Washington Post reported, one federal immigration judge said:

"I've taught immigration law literally to 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds," [immigration judge Jack] Weil said. "It takes a lot of time. It takes a lot of patience. They get it. It's not the most efficient, but it can be done."

That's outrageous. Sign this petition and tell Congress that every child facing deportation deserves a lawyer. Period.

We need to take action. Congress is considering a bill to ensure that every child facing immigration proceedings has a lawyer to represent them. Let's send a message to our leaders in Congress: Pass the Fair Day in Court for Kids Act without delay!
