John Kennedy reported nearly $1 million raised in his second quarter fundraising report for the U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana, bringing in $946,000, with $1,384,083 cash on hand.

This is the second strong report for Kennedy who led the field in the first quarter with $817,584 raised. Thus far, Kennedy raised $1,763,584 this year in his bid for the U.S. Senate seat.

These huge fundraising numbers come on the heels of five consecutive polls that show him leading by a large margin.

"The people of our state want someone in Washington looking out for their best interests, and I'm committed to bringing some Louisiana common sense to the U.S. Senate," Kennedy said.

The fundraising report shows homegrown support with 97 percent of donors from Louisiana and 97 percent of the contributions from individuals.
