Week after week we learn more and more about Hillary Clinton's blatant disregard for our nation's laws and continued abuse of power. According to a report conducted by the Associated Press, "at least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had a phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family charity or pledged commitments to its international programs." Overall, this report estimates that these donors contributed as much as $156 million, with 50 of the donors giving at least $100,000 and 20 giving more than $1 million. Mrs. Clinton has shown no remorse for her poor decision making skills and has gone one step further by trying to justify her actions. However, there is no justification for this type of slick, back to door dealing, pay-to-play operation.
While the FBI Director and Attorney General Lynch have turned a blind eye to her behavior, I firmly believe that we must appoint a special counsel to look into this matter and get to the bottom of it. That is why I joined my colleague Congressman John Ratcliffe from Texas and 48 other members from across the country in sending a letter to Attorney General Lynch urging her to take this proposal into consideration. The Clintons have gotten away with lying to the American people for far too long and we must ensure that we hold her accountable for her illegal and dishonest actions.
