With a heavy handed administration in Washington, we have to take an active role in protecting our way of life. I am proud of voting to block our state Department of Environmental Quality from implementing the Clean Power Plan in Wyoming while it is being litigated in court. If this rule becomes the law of the land, it will cost the coal industry billions of dollars per year. It is designed to do one thing and one thing only: destroy an industry which is already on its knees. Even though this fight is an uphill battle, I vow to continue to protect blue collar jobs and our way of life in this state. We also protected property rights from activist groups which would seek to trespass in order to collect data to be used against the landowner whose rights they violated. Private property rights are the foundation of our ability to pursue happiness in this country as our founders intended. It is disturbing to see so many people with such contempt for this principle. I am proud to say I've helped pass legislation which protects those rights. You can count on me to continue that fight if reelected.
