Ayotte Visits Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc. in Nashua

On Monday, U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte visited Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc. (GSSI) in Nashua. During the visit, Ayotte met with employees and discussed the need to equip students with the skills they need to fill manufacturing and engineering jobs - including those at GSSI. In addition, Ayotte learned about GSSI's ground penetrating radar technology and devices used to inspect our infrastructure and to find survivors in earthquakes and other disasters.

"I appreciated the opportunity to visit GSSI in Nashua, and discuss issues that are facing many New Hampshire businesses, including ensuring that we have a robust manufacturing workforce by giving New Hampshire's students access to STEM education programs. I also appreciated learning about GSSI's important work to protect the American people from natural disasters and other threats to our security," said Senator Ayotte.

During today's visit, Senator Ayotte discussed bipartisan legislation that she helped introduce, the Manufacturing Skills Act, that would create an annual $100 million competitive grant program that would allow states and cities to develop manufacturing training programs tailored to regional needs. In addition, she discussed bipartisan provisions she is cosponsoring to boost STEM learning and ensure students have access to manufacturing skills to fill good-paying jobs in New Hampshire. Finally, she also discussed how Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ground penetrating radar regulations are impacting GSSI and what changes can be made to ensure that government regulations aren't hindering growing businesses like GSSI.
