Rep. Juan Vargas Applauds Inclusion of Calexico Port of Entry Phase 2 Funding in House Appropriations Financial Services and General Government Bill

Rep. Juan Vargas (CA-51), California's border representative applauded the House Appropriations Subcommittee Members for including $248 million for Phase 2 of the Calexico West Land Port of Entry (LPOE) Reconfiguration and Expansion Project in the Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill.

"I'm pleased… the necessary funds to complete the last phase of the Calexico West LPOE project," said Rep. Vargas. "Investing in our infrastructure will stimulate our mega region and our nation's economic potential, as well as increase jobs, safety, and commercial growth."

Rep. Vargas will continue working with local, state, and national leaders to ensure the funding is obtained. Funds for Phase 1 of the project were approved by Congress in December of 2014.
