Issue Position

It's past time for us to get smart on crime. The Senate President has asked me to lead a working group on criminal justice reform, including eliminating mandatory sentencing, which has led to gross inequities for women and those convicted of certain non-violent drug offenses. Smart policies will reinforce communities, reduce recidivism and more effectively use public resources.
