Date: Aug. 12, 2016
Issues: Elections

Retired Brigadier General Don Bacon, Republican nominee for the United States Congress in Nebraska's second district, sent a letter this week to Congressman Brad Ashford inviting him to participate in a series of debates. In the letter, Don Bacon suggested a number of possible news outlets and organizations that could possibly host such forums.

"Don Bacon looks forward to the opportunity to stand with Brad Ashford and tackle the critical issues facing our community. Consequently, we see the proposed debates as a starting point and we welcome the opportunity for additional forums to addresses the concerns of the citizens of the second district. Everywhere that Don Bacon visits, he routinely receives questions from Omaha area residents about when they will have the chance to listen to both General Bacon and Congressman Ashford together. The Bacon campaign looks forward to working diligently with the Ashford campaign to make these debate forums a reality for second district voters," said Bacon Campaign Manager Mark Dreiling.
