Outdoor Industry Association Endorses Ryan Zinke's Re-election to Congress

Today, the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) and Montana outdoor recreation businesses announced the endorsement of first-term Montana Rep. Ryan Zinke's reelection to Congress. OIA voted last week to endorse Zinke over his democratic challenger, citing Zinke's unwavering record supporting the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and his defense of public lands.

OIA is the trade association for suppliers, manufacturers and retailers in the outdoor recreation industry. In Montana, the outdoor recreation economy accounts for $5.8 billion in consumer spending, 64,000 jobs, $1.5 billion in wages and salaries, and $403 million in state and local tax revenue. OIA represents over 1300 members, including companies large and small right here in Montana.

Earlier this summer, Zinke's challenger, Denise Juneau, launched false attacks against Rep. Zinke's record on public lands, claiming he voted to sell public lands. Independent fact checkers at Ballotpedia, Montana Public Radio, and the Billings Gazette rated Juneau's claims false.
