While I did not vote in favor of the 2015-2017 budget bill, I'm grateful for the input of my constituents whose concerns prompted many of the changes made to the budget. Here's a few ways I fought to make the budget better for our communities.

One of the concerns many of you brought to my attention was the proposed changes to the popular SeniorCare program and long-term care for our most vulnerable offered through FamilyCare and IRIS.
* After hearing your concerns, I sent a letter to the Co-Chair of the legislature's Joint Finance Committee reaffirming my support for these popular programs and requested that they be preserved.
* In sharing many of your personal stories and concerns with the proposal, I'm pleased to have played a role in saving SeniorCare and FamilyCare.
