Issue Position: The Rural Wisconsin Initiative

Issue Position

This year I joined fellow outstate legislators from rural areas across the State to announce the Rural Wisconsin Initiative. This is an ongoing effort, and we will be incorporating suggestions from people across the State. To begin the conversation, the Initiative will focus on improving education, workforce development, technology and health care in our rural areas.

Prior to the creation of the Initiative, I had focused on a wide range of legislation aimed at helping our rural schools and communities. I authored legislation that will:
* increase access to health care
* provide additional tools for our students to succeed
* extend broadband access to underserved areas

Improving all areas of rural life in Wisconsin will be a process and one that needs your input. The intent of the Initiative is to begin a conversation and continue to work towards reflecting what our constituents want.
