Much Remains to Be Done

Statement

Date: Feb. 23, 2016
Issues: Elections

Today, I filed for re-election to continue representing the 5th Congressional District of Missouri. I have been honored to represent our community since first being elected in 2004. Much has been accomplished during my tenure in Congress, and much remains to be done.

Our country and our community face many challenges. We still need greatereconomic development and job creation affording opportunities for everyone. Bridging the income disparity across our region is a priority to work on improving. We must continue to invest in education andworkforce development for our youth to enhance their abilities to compete for generations to come.

Paramount to our nation's continuing success is the critical need for consensus and compromise on vital issues facing us each day. As a champion for civility in Congress since my election I have worked in a bipartisan manner across the aisle to foster and generate solutions benefiting our region.

As my campaign for re-election officially kicks off with filing today I again call upon you for your help and support. Two opponents filed against me today.

Please make a contribution today of $30, $75, $150, or whatever amount you can afford. Click here to make your donation today.

During the presidential election cycle, campaigns are even more expensive. We will need to communicate frequently with voters to break through the inevitable noise we will hear from all of the political races.

Your contribution today will go to immediate work as I continue campaigning throughout the 5th District of Missouri.

As always, Dianne and I greatly appreciate all of your support and belief in my efforts in Congress.
