Gottheimer Repudiates Trump's Remarks, Hopes Trump Will Apologize to Gold Star Family

Today, Josh Gottheimer, Congressional candidate in the Fifth District, expressed outrage and disappointment about Donald Trump's comments against the Khan family's sacrifices for our country. Khizr and Ghazala Khan's son, U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, an American hero, gave his life to save his fellow soldiers from a suicide bomber in 2004.

"It's now five days since Donald Trump's outrageous comments about an American hero and his family," said Gottheimer. "Captain Khan made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, Trump's comments are an insult to anyone who is serving or has served our country."

"Our veterans, service members, and military families, should always know they have our unwavering support. I am hopeful that Donald Trump will find it in his heart to apologize to the Khan family and all those who have lost loved ones defending our country," Gottheimer continued.
