Bacon Skipping RNC to Meet With Voters, Encourages Ashford to Skip DNC

This week, retired Brigadier General Don Bacon, Republican nominee for the Second Congressional District, is not attending the Republican national convention. Instead, he's focused on meeting with constituents and listening to their concerns.

"Now more than ever, the American people believe that too many public officials are out of touch and don't listen. The political establishment in both parties have failed to address the threat of terrorism and our $19 Trillion debt. People are tired of hallow speeches with the wrong results. Many people have asked me if I'm attending the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. I'm focused on Nebraska and meeting with voters and I'm not attending the convention this week," said Bacon.Bacon then encouraged Brad Ashford to skip the Democrat convention and help lead by example. Ashford is currently slated to attend the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, as he is a super delegate that is pledged to Hillary Clinton.
