Exposed: Denise Juneau Voted to Sell Thousands of Acres of Public Lands

In the wake of being caught launching false attacks against Congressman Ryan Zinke's record on public lands, Denise Juneau is now being exposed as a hypocrite and a liar for voting to sell or transfer about 17,000 acres of Montana public land while serving on Montana's Land Board. This includes at least ten votes to sell more than 7,000 acres of public land to private landowners and transfer about ten thousand more acres of wildlife management areas and cultural or historic areas.

The following is a breakdown of relevant votes. Note: This is only a partial list, dating back to 2013, as Juneau has served on the Land Board since 2008.

2013: Voted to sell 1,929 acres (May, June, July, October)
2014: Voted to sell 3,134 acres (February, April, May, July)
2015: Voted to sell 800 acres
2016: Voted to sell 1,275 acres
2016: Voted to transfer 9,488 acres of wildlife and cultural areas to other agencies

"If you want to know what a candidate stands for look at their voting record. Ryan Zinke has never voted to sell public lands; Denise Juneau voted to sell public lands at least 10 times," said Heather Swift, Zinke campaign spokesman. "The Billings Gazette and national fact checkers have both exposed Ms. Juneau for lying about Congressman Zinke's stellar record on public lands. Now we find out she personally voted to sell off Montana's public lands while trying to mislead voters into believing she is the one to be trusted. Stooping to lies and hypocrisy does not set a good example for the kind of representative she would be, but it is telling."

After Juneau launched attacks against Zinke's record on public lands, Independent fact checkers at Ballotpedia and the Billings Gazette ruled the attack by Juneau to be false.
