London Terrorist Attack Today

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn.-3) today released the following statement on the terrorist attack in London, England.

"Today's events are a tragedy. My heart goes out to all those wounded and to the families of those killed in London.

"These bombings should be a reminder to the U.S. that we must do all we that we can to secure our mass transit systems. Passenger rail systems in particular carry about five times as many passengers each day as airlines. Millions of Connecticut residents rely on public transit from the Metro-North Railroad to the transit bus lines - more than 90,000 of whom ride Metro-North to New York City each day.

"While everyone should continue to be more aware of their surroundings, we should not allow our daily lives to be disrupted by terrorism."
