Ayotte Visits Orion Entrance Control in Laconia

Recently, U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte, member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, visited Orion Entrance Control, Inc. in Laconia. Ayotte participated in a roundtable discussion with employees and learned about their process for making security turnstiles for building entrances. Currently, Orion is working on a project for the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord.

"I had a great discussion with Orion President Steve Caroselli and the rest of his team about the excellent work they do as a New Hampshire small business," Ayotte said. "New Hampshire is lucky to have thriving small businesses - including Orion. We have to focus on reforming and simplifying the tax code so that companies like Orion can continue to do business right here in New Hampshire, and remain competitive in the global marketplace.

"Orion's work is also important to the safety and security of the American people, and I have been proud to support measures that would level the playing field and allow New Hampshire small businesses to more easily participate in the federal contracting system. By partnering with federal agencies, companies like Orion can share and improve upon their innovative security technology."

As a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committees, Ayotte successfully introduced legislation to ensure that the Transportation Security Administration efficiently acquires security technology while focusing on the responsible use of taxpayer dollars. The Transportation Security Acquisition Reform Act passed the Senate unanimously and was signed into law in December 2014.
