Today, former Nevada Attorney General and U.S. Senate Candidate Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on Hillary Clinton's announcement that she has chosen Tim Kaine as her running mate:

"This is good news for the middle class and bad news for the Trump-Pence-Heck ticket. Tim Kaine is a strong advocate for working families and has dedicated his career to bringing people together and solving problems for the American people. The Hillary Clinton-Tim Kaine ticket will fight to solve the problems facing our country like passing comprehensive immigration reform and making the economy work for everyone, not just those at the top.

"This stands in stark contrast to Republicans like Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Congressman Heck. Trump, Pence, and Congressman Heck want the government to dictate women's healthcare decisions and their backwards immigration agenda would tear families apart. Nevada families cannot afford to have anti-women, anti-immigrant politicians like Trump and Pence in the White House or Congressman Heck in the Senate.

"Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine know that America is stronger when we work together. I look forward to working with them to win this election so we can get to work solving problems for the American people."
