Rep. Valadao Visits Fresno County Community Organizations

Today, U.S. Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) visited with various organizations throughout Fresno County including United Health Center in Kerman, the Selma Police Department, and the Selma Boys and Girls Club.

Monday morning, Rep. Valadao visited with medical professionals at the United Health Centers Kerman location and later visited the recently opened Selma Boys and Girls Club.

"I am very grateful for the continuous efforts of outreach programs in the surrounding community,"stated Congressman Valadao,"United Health Centers and the Boys and Girls Club, along with many other organizations, support growth and extend a helping hand to our community. Their dedication to Valley residents is undeniable, and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to witness it firsthand."
United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley, aims to provide comprehensive medical, dental and community health services to the medically underserved in the central San Joaquin Valley.
The Selma Boys and Girls Club works to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Rep. Valadao also had the opportunity to meet with Police Chief Greg Garner while in Selma.

Congressman Valadao said,"In light of recent tragedies, it is important to support the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting our well-being."He continued,"The Selma Police Department works around the clock to ensure the safety and cohesiveness of our community while remaining sensitive to citizen's needs."
The Selma Police Department serves a growing population of over 23,000 with 30 sworn and 8 non-sworn officers. The Department aims to educate and assist through its various program and services. Recently, Selma was awarded $4 million dollars from the state, signed by Governor Jerry Brown, for the purpose of constructing a new police facility. The new structure will ease the burden of local tax payers and allow law enforcement to better serve Selma and the surrounding areas.
