Former Nevada Attorney General and candidate for U.S. Senate Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on Donald Trump announcing Governor Mike Pence as his running mate:

"Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Congressman Heck represent the most extreme Republican ticket in our lifetime. Considering Trump wants to "punish' women who have abortions, it's fitting his running mate and candidate for Senate in Nevada have a record of voting to do just that.

"Mike Pence and Congressman Heck have voted in Congress to essentially enact the extreme agenda Donald Trump has touted on the campaign trail. Whether it's their support for dangerous restrictions on women's health, their opposition to comprehensive immigration reform, their attacks on the citizenship of American children born to immigrant families, or their support for defunding Planned Parenthood, Nevada women and families cannot afford Donald Trump and Mike Pence in the White House or Congressman Heck in the Senate."
