Cramer: Opioid Bill Conference Report Passes House

Statement

Congressman Kevin Cramer released the following statement today after the House of Representatives passed the conference report to S. 524, the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act, by a vote of 407-5. House and Senate opioid conferees met Wednesday to finalize legislative text and vote on amendments. The conference report now goes to the Senate for final consideration before advancing to the President's desk.

"Today marks a great day in the fight against this nation's opioid epidemic. Through bipartisan efforts and with the support of more than 200 leading advocacy groups, this thoughtful piece of legislation is nearly law. It will help provide the tools necessary to support those on the frontlines working every day to end the abuse of opioids. It also offers improvements to aid people in recovery. I was pleased to work on this important piece of legislation and I thank all who supported it for the greater good of North Dakotans and the American people. I urge the Senate to act quickly to also approve this bill."
