Issue Position

Deborah began her legal career helping cities and counties pay for key infrastructure projects like water and sewer systems.
After serving in the North Carolina State House for 10 years, Deborah became General Counsel for GoTriangle, a regional public transit authority working to provide and increase transportation services connecting Wake, Durham, and Orange counties.

Deborah's experience as a lawyer, legislator, and at GoTriangle strengthened her belief in the need to invest in our local and national infrastructure to spur job creation.

Like many other areas of the country, North Carolina's aging bridges, roads, and water and sewer systems are struggling to keep pace with the demands of its burgeoning population.

Deborah understands that one of the best ways to put people to work and grow our economy is to rebuild our roads, bridges and other key infrastructure. These investments create jobs right here in America, and attract businesses to North Carolina while increasing our safety and quality of life.

In the U.S. Senate, Deborah will work to make sure we bring our infrastructure into the 21st century.
