Deborah believes that all people should have access to affordable, quality health care.
For too long, our nation's healthcare system let too many Americans slip through the cracks. They could be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions. Families were forced to go without coverage, delay preventative care, or amass sky-high medical bills that set them back financially.

The Affordable Care Act did a lot to fix these injustices. While Deborah knows the law isn't perfect, she believes we should be working to improve it, not wasting time and tax dollars on countless repeal efforts. These repeals would bring us back to a time when insurance companies could kick people off their plans when they got sick, women paid more than men for the same coverage, and young adults entering the workforce couldn't stay on their parents' plans.

In the U.S. Senate, Deborah's focus will be on finding bipartisan solutions to improve the law. She will work to expand Medicaid in North Carolina, expand tax support for small businesses to help them provide health insurance to their employees, repeal the tax on medical device manufacturers which support good jobs right here in North Carolina, and expand consumer choice.
