Governor Hassan Announces Job Training Grants for Four New Hampshire Companies in June

Continuing her efforts to help New Hampshire workers foster the skills and innovative thinking needed for success in good jobs of the 21st century economy, Governor Maggie Hassan today announced that four New Hampshire companies have received job training grants to help train 84 workers in new skills.

The job training grants for June total $59,440, and the companies contributed matching funds to bring the total amount for training workers to $118,880.

"I am proud to announce the most recent round of important grants that will help Granite State workers develop the skills needed for good-paying, high-quality jobs at growing, innovative businesses throughout the state," Governor Hassan said. "New Hampshire's Job Training Fund is an essential resource that has helped thousands of workers develop the skills needed for success in the innovation economy and has played an important role in boosting our state's economy. Through our continued commitment to higher education and job training, we can attract innovative businesses, help existing companies grow, and support the creation of good jobs that will expand middle class opportunity and help keep our economy moving in the right direction."

Dynamic Network Services of Manchester received a grant of up to $39,075 for 40 employees to receive training from Amazon Web Services in technical essentials and architecting, security operations, and development operations.

Horizon Technology, Inc. of Salem was awarded a grant of $5,500 for enrolling three employees in ISO 9001 Collaborative training with the New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NHMEP).

MicroVision, Inc. of Seabrook received a grant of $11,850 for 40 employees to receive in Lean, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen training from NHMEP.

Design Standards Corporation of Charlestown was awarded a grant of $3,015 to train one employee in the Advanced Machine Tool Technology Certificate program at River Valley Community College.

The Job Training Fund has awarded $8,990,453 in grants since October 2007, with employers contributing $11,792,157 for a total of $20,782,610 in new training for 26,054 New Hampshire workers.
