Michael is standing up against attacks on women's health and fighting for more financial security for working women.

As the father of three girls, Michael wants a world that will treat his daughters the same as their male peers. Michael believes in equal pay for equal work and voted for the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Now he is fighting to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act so women can raise potential wage discrimination without fearing punishment.

Michael is working to protect women's access to safe and affordable health care, and has fought against attempts by extremists in Congress to defund support for women's health care. Michael supports classifying contraception as preventative care to make sure it is covered by all insurance plans, and he's fought to make sure employers can't deny birth control coverage to their employees. Michael has a 100 percent rating from both Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice.
