America is a nation of laws and our status as leader of the free world is founded on defending the rule of law. In the interests of national security, economic prosperity, and individual liberty, we must secure our borders and stop the flow of illegal immigration.
As a firm opponent of amnesty for those who have broken our immigration laws, it is my strong conviction that Congress should take no other action on this issue before our current laws are effectively enforced and our border is completely secure.
Respecting the process our forebears followed, citizenship should be reserved for those who have immigrated legally.
