The House Freedom Caucus released the following statement following the passage of the Conscience Protection Act of 2016 on Wednesday:

"Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed a critical piece of legislation that will protect medical providers and religious institutions' conscience rights -- and ultimately their religious freedom. The Conscience Protection Act is supported by the House Freedom Caucus and is part of its 2016 policy agenda. We are grateful to Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) for his hard work to advance this critical legislation since day one. We hope to see it signed into law to in the near future."
