Date: June 13, 2016
Location: Billings, MT
Issues: Elections

Former Lone Star State Governor Rick Perry of Texas joined Bozeman businessman and Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte at a series of meet and greet events in Billings, Montana on Thursday- just two days after Gianforte won a decisive victory in the primary election.

Thursday afternoon, Governor Perry and Gianforte -- both staunch defenders of the 2nd Amendment -- also spent some time on the shooting range with local veterans and sportsmen. Gianforte has earned an A rating and the endorsement of the National Rifle Association.

RICK PERRY: I am pleased to lend my support to Greg Gianforte. Greg is a businessman and a job creator who understands what it will take to build a high-wage economy in Montana. We also need more governors who are sportsmen and staunch defenders of the 2nd Amendment.

GREG GIANFORTE: I am proud to have the support of Governor Perry and the endorsement of the NRA. As governor, I'll fight for sportsmen and for our 2nd Amendment rights.

Also, joining for the event at the shooting range, was David Keene, former president of the National Rifle Association. Keene praised Gianforte for his strong record on sportsmen's issues and his stance on defending the 2nd Amendment.

DAVID KEENE: Greg Gianforte is hunter, a fisherman, and a life member of the NRA. As governor, he'll defend public lands and public access, and stand up for the 2nd Amendment.

Gianforte is the founder of RightNow Technologies. He started the company out of his house in Bozeman, and created over 500 jobs in Montana. The average Montana salary at RightNow was nearly $90,000 a year. Oracle purchased RightNow in 2012, and continues to expand the company's footprint in Montana.
