Gianforte Proposes 406 Tax Relief on Tax Day | Pledges to Lower Rates Across the Board, Improve Wages

It's real relief, and it's real simple. And it will help create high wage jobs, and put money back in the pockets of hard-working Montanans. That's how Bozeman businessman and tech entrepreneur Greg Gianforte unveiled his "406 Tax Relief" plan at a lumber yard in Clancy, Montana.

Gianforte is a Republican candidate for governor. He and his wife Susan started their company RightNow Technologies out of their home in Bozeman. The company grew to over 1,100 employees and had an average Montana salary nearing $90,000.

GIANFORTE: "My wife and I love the 406. We've raised all four of our kids here in the 406. We started and grew an incredibly successful company here in the 406. We want others to prosper here in the 406. And that's why we intend to deliver "406 Tax Relief."

Gianforte delivered the key elements of his tax relief plan at high noon on tax day at Marks Lumber in Clancy. The 406 Tax Relief plan includes:

4- Eliminate the Business Equipment Tax in 4 Years

0- Zero Increase in Overall State Spending, Zero Sales Tax

6- Lower Income Taxes for All, Max Rate of 6%

GIANFORTE: "I learned from over 30 years starting and growing businesses that sustainable jobs and opportunities are only created in the private sector, not by government programs. Streamlining regulations, lowering taxes and slowing the growth of government will energize our economy and help create more high wage jobs so we can stop exporting our kids."
