Congressman Aderholt Meets with President Bush to Discuss CAFTA

Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) today met with President Bush and Vice President Cheney in the Oval Office to discuss the upcoming vote on the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). After the meeting, Congressman Aderholt made the following statement:

"The meeting was very constructive, and I appreciate the President inviting me. It was valuable to be able to personally hear his plan and to be able to share with him the concerns that people from the 4th District have with CAFTA.

"I continue to strongly lean no on the CAFTA legislation. I will continue to work with the President and the U.S. Trade Representative to address issues in this trade agreement that are critical to our area, especially concerning the hosiery industry."
