Titus Statement on Designation of Stonewall National Monument

Representative Dina Titus of Nevada's First Congressional District released the following statement in response to President Obama's designation of the Stonewall National Monument.

"Nearly 50 years ago this week, gay, lesbian, and transgender individuals at a small bar in Greenwich Village said enough is enough and stood up to injustice and discrimination. Their actions that night sparked the LGBT civil rights movement that continues to this day. As a proud sponsor of legislation to permanently protect the Stonewall Inn and recognize its importance to United States history and the LGBT rights movement, I applaud the President's decision
