Statement from Governor Hassan on Signing Bill to Support Families of Fallen Police Officers and Firefighters

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after today signing Senate Bill 319, relative to survivor benefits for families of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty:

"Our brave police officers and firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect their fellow citizens, and we must ensure that they and their families receive the full support they deserve. This is especially true when it comes to supporting the families of the heroes who make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and by expanding benefits to more family members of fallen police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty, Senate Bill 319 helps strengthen our commitment to our courageous police officers, firefighters and their families."
