Statement

Date: June 12, 2016
Location: Concord, NH

President Barack Obama has issued a proclamation ordering the lowering of flags on all public buildings and grounds to half-staff immediately and until sunset, Thursday, June 16, in honor of the victims of the terrorist attack in Orlando. Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement:

"I join all Granite Staters and all Americans in mourning the victims of the horrific shooting in Orlando and expressing our profound gratitude to the brave first responders who helped prevent further loss of life. This was an act of terror and hate, and we remain united in our resolve to rid the world of terrorism. We also must continue fighting for inclusiveness and to ensure that all LGBT Americans can live free from fear with the full dignity, respect and safety that they deserve. Though we cannot ease the pain of their loss, we stand with the families and loved ones of those who were taken from this earth far too soon by this heinous and cowardly attack."
