Governor Rounds Praises Dedication of Gunderson

Governor Mike Rounds today announced that Marian Gunderson, Yankton, a long-time member of the South Dakota Water Management Board in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), has resigned her position on the board.

"With regret, I have accepted Marian's resignation from the Water Management Board," said Rounds. "She has been a dedicated and loyal board member for South Dakota water rights and water quality issues during the 26 years she has served on the board. Marian was a strong board member who made consistent water-related decisions based on the facts of the cases before the board, and DENR is going to miss her leadership and experience."

Gunderson began serving on the Water Management Board in 1979.

Gunderson resigned effective July 6. An announcement on a successor will be made in the near future.
