Bringing New Jobs to Nevada
While our economy is bouncing back with new industries coming to our state, we must continue to do all we can to not only diversify our economy with new businesses and job opportunities, but to make sure these jobs go to Nevada workers. I was proud to support legislation in 2011 to revamp our economic development efforts, enabling our state to successfully compete for new businesses. I have also fought hard for accountability measures to ensure that local workers get hired and for more educational opportunities to help workers get trained or re-trained.
As we expand our economy, we must also ensure our existing businesses and industries, such as tourism, recreational opportunities, and small businesses, progress.
I have always been a passionate advocate for Nevada's workers and their families, and I believe we need to do more to help those who are still unemployed or struggling to make ends meet.
