Duckworth Reacts to Brutal Stabbing of Israeli-American Hallel Yaffa Ariel

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) issued the following statement condemning the brutal stabbing of a 13-year-old dual citizen of Israel and the United States as she slept in her bed in the West Bank:

"The needless violence in Israel and the West Bank has taken the lives of more than 30 Israelis in recent months. This morning, it took the life of 13-year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel, a dual Israeli-American citizen who was cruelly and horrifically stabbed to death by a terrorist while she slept in her own bed. My thoughts are with this young girl's family, friends and community today."

"Violence such as this can never be legally or morally justified and must be condemned in the strongest way possible by both the international community and Palestinian leaders. These attacks only make a peaceful resolution to the region's struggles more difficult, and I remain committed to ending the bloodshed."
