Duckworth Statement on Supreme Court Decision on President Obama's Executive Actions on Immigration

Statement

Date: June 23, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) today issued the following statement on the Supreme Court split decision on the DAPA and expanded DACA case.

"Today, the Supreme Court announced that they reached a split 4-4 decision on the DAPA and expanded DACA case. Unfortunately, this means that the appeals court's disappointing decision will stand, blocking the President's immigration initiatives that represent our American ideals and threatening to separate millions of hard-working families. As an original cosponsor of the ENLIST Act that would allow young undocumented immigrants who were brought to this country as children to earn a green card by serving honorably in the US Military for at least 5 years, I will continue to fight in Congress for DREAMers and to keep families together."
