Today, Senator Scott (R-SC) released the following statement after voting for the Cornyn amendment to provide $1.1 billion in emergency funding for efforts to prepare for and respond to the Zika virus.

"Since we first learned about the potential impact of Zika on the America people, I have supported the need for the administration and Congress to find a way to address this impending issue and do so in the most fiscally responsible manner possible," said Senator Scott. The measure I supported today was fully paid for, and will ensure health care professionals have the resources they need while allowing state and local officials to take necessary steps to eradicate mosquitoes that may carry the Zika virus."
