BART is an amazing public transportation system that our residents rely on daily for their transportation needs -- but it is also one of the most expensive systems in the nation. It is widely acknowledged that the BART system in general is in need of updating and modernizing. I do not support BART asking our local taxpayers to approve a $3 billion tax measure UNTIL it has done everything possible first to rein in spending and institute budgeting efficiencies.
