Hoeven: HHS Awards More Than $2.3 Million to University of North Dakota

Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) National Institute of General Medical Sciences has awarded $2,383,747 to the University of North Dakota (UND). The funds will support a Center of Excellence for pharmacology, physiology and biological chemical research, which will aid advances in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

"The University of North Dakota is an internationally-recognized research institution," Hoeven said. "Today's funding will support biomedical research aimed at better understanding diseases and the agents that cause illness, which will improve our communities' health and well-being through better treatment and prevention."
