Today, Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) and fellow Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (VA-06) urging swift action on gun violence. Rep. Chu released the following statement:

"Once again our country has been shocked by an horrific act of gun violence, this time the deadliest in U.S. history. And once again, the only action Congress can muster is a moment of silence. Unless we act to finally keep the most dangerous weapons out of the most dangerous hands, our moments of silence will become our legacy of silence," said Rep. Chu. "Fortunately, there are legislative options that could prevent future massacres. It's time we put our concern into action. It's time the House Judiciary Committee meet its responsibility and hold a hearing on how we can keep Americans safe from the plague of gun violence."
