Catherine Cortez Masto for Senate spokesperson Zach Hudson released the following statement on Buzzfeed reporting that Congressman Heck is pushing a debunked right-wing conspiracy theory about Sharia Law invading the United States:

"It should be shocking to hear a candidate for United States Senate make this bizarre and false claim, but then again this Senate candidate supports Donald Trump for President. Congressman Heck has gone from supporting Donald Trump's candidacy and his policies to actively pushing debunked conspiracy theories that could easily have come out of the mouth of the Republican nominee for President. Nevada needs a problem solver as our next Senator, not a Washington politician like Congressman Heck who parrots discredited right-wing conspiracy theories."
