Politics' as usual in Springfield continues to stand in the way of solving the problems that matter most to Illinois families.

Senator Murphy thinks that no one person or group of people should have a stranglehold on government. Her plan for fixing "politics as usual' includes term limits for legislative leaders.

"Our state has more problems than it deserves. But politics as usual stonewalls progress and solutions to the issues that could improve the quality of life for all of us. Much has to be accomplished but I strongly believe that little can get done without making critical reforms in state government first -- starting with creating term limits for legislative leaders in both Houses." -- Senator Laura Murphy
