Catherine Cortez Masto Casts Early Vote Ballot, Reminds Nevadans of Clear Choice in Election

Statement

Today, former Nevada Attorney General and U.S. Senate Candidate Catherine Cortez Masto met with supporters and cast her ballot during Nevada's Early Vote period at the East Las Vegas Community Center, in advance of Nevada's June 14 Primary Election Day. Upon casting her ballot, Cortez Masto released the following statement:

"I'm so grateful to be here today, surrounded by supporters for my candidacy, and to cast my ballot for Nevada's Primary. It's clear that Nevadans want a leader in the Senate who will focus on solving problems, not partisan battles. That's what I did for eight years as Nevada's Attorney General. I worked with members of both Parties to pass over forty bipartisan bills that helped Nevadans. We went after the Big Banks who crashed our housing market, we passed landmark bills to toughen laws against human trafficking, helped give law enforcement the tools they needed to crack down on meth labs, and protected Nevada seniors from scam artists. That's the type of bipartisan problem solving we need more of in Washington.

"As Nevada's next Senator, I will continue my record of solving problems for the people of Nevada. This means raising the minimum wage, ensuring women receive equal pay for equal work, preserving a woman's right to choose, providing our children with access to a 21st century education, and finally passing comprehensive immigration reform. These are the issues that I will fight for, unlike my opponents, Congressman Heck and Sharron Angle, who would side in the Senate with their Party's leaders in Washington, not Nevada working families. I look forward to continue campaigning across Nevada in the coming months to highlight the clear choice in this election between my record of working with Republicans and Democrats alike to solve problems, and a politician like Congressman Heck, who is part of the dysfunction and gridlock in Washington."
