In Pahrump, Cortez Masto Highlights Record as Bipartisan Problem Solver, Unlike Opponents Sharron Angle & Congressman Heck

Last night, former Nevada Attorney General and candidate for United States Senate Catherine Cortez Masto joined Nye County Democrats as the keynote speaker at their annual Nye County FDR/JFK Dinner in Pahrump. Cortez Masto spoke about the clear contrast in this year's election between her and her opponents, Sharron Angle and Congressman Heck.

"For too long, Washington has failed the American people, refusing to take up the real challenges they face everyday," Cortez Masto said. "It's time for the politicians in Washington to stop the partisan bickering and focus on solving problems, not creating them."

In her remarks, Cortez Masto detailed her record as Attorney General of solving problems for the people of Nevada. From taking on the Big Banks and securing $1.9 billion in relief for Nevada homeowners, to sponsoring landmark legislation to combat sex trafficking, Catherine Cortez Masto was a bipartisan problem solver as Nevada's Attorney General.

"Unfortunately, one of my opponents, Congressman Heck, has been part of the mess in Washington," Cortez Masto added. "He votes with the Tea Party and the right wing of his party nine times out of ten. And his Republican Primary opponent, Sharron Angle, would do the same."

"Instead of creating problems and contributing to partisan dysfunction, Washington should be creating an economy that works for everyone. That means raising the minimum wage, making sure we have equal pay for equal work, and tearing down barriers to the middle class," said Cortez Masto. "I've spent my career solving problems. Isn't that something we need more of in Washington?"
