Reno Radio on Launch of Students for Cortez Masto Steering Committee

Yesterday, former Nevada Attorney General and U.S. Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto joined with students at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) to launch her campaign's new "Students for Cortez Masto" Steering Committee. Cortez Masto will work with the steering committee on policy solutions for problems faced by college students and graduates, such as college affordability and student-loan debt. But while Cortez Masto will focus on making college more affordable, her opponents, Sharron Angle and Congressman Heck, support reckless policies that would make college more expensive for Nevada students.

"Whether it's voting for reckless Republican budgets that slash Pell Grants for thousands of Nevadans, or voting to raise student loan interest rates, Congressman Heck has completely failed Nevada students in the half-decade he has spent in Washington," said Catherine Cortez Masto for Senate spokesperson Zach Hudson. "The choice for Nevada students is clear: while Catherine Cortez Masto will focus on solving problems like college affordability as Nevada's next Senator, Republicans like Sharron Angle and Congressman Heck would make college even less affordable for Nevada students."
