Catherine Cortez Masto Announces Veterans Steering Committee

Today, former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto announced the launch of a new Veterans Steering Committee, a group of prominent Nevada veterans who will advise Cortez Masto on policy solutions to address the needs and concerns of the state's veterans, as well as conduct outreach to Nevada veterans on behalf of Cortez Masto's campaign.

Along with 21 Attorneys General, Cortez Masto advocated for Congress to stop for-profit colleges from preying on veterans seeking higher education after their service -- specifically schools targeting some of the most vulnerable veterans who suffer from debilitating traumatic brain injuries or post-traumatic stress disorder. Cortez Masto also called for stronger protections for veterans who are targeted by payday-lending companies.

"I am honored to have this dignified group of men and women who dedicated their lives in service of our country advising my campaign,"said Cortez Masto. "It is unacceptable that big corporations continue to prey on our nation's heroes. We must ensure that our veterans get the care and protections they deserve. With the help of this Committee, I will be able to make sure I solve problems and address the concerns of our veterans as Nevada's next Senator."
