Former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on reports President Obama is considering Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court:
"If nominated by the President, Governor Sandoval deserves a fair hearing and consideration, just like any nominee the President puts forth. Voting on nominees is part of the job of being a Senator, and if politicians in Washington have a problem with that they should find a new line of work, as Congressman Amodei has suggested. I urge my opponents, Sharron Angle and Congressman Heck, to join me in calling for Governor Sandoval to get a fair hearing should President Obama nominate him to be our next Supreme Court Justice."
