Former Nevada Attorney General and Democratic candidate for United States Senate Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on Congressman Heck not attending Nevada's Republican caucuses tomorrow evening:
"Nevadans fought hard for our early state status on the presidential nominating calendar, and it's a shame Congressman Heck will not help protect that by participating in the Republican caucuses tomorrow evening. I was proud to participate in the Democratic caucuses this last Saturday because I believe Nevadans deserve a say in selecting the nominees to be our next President.
"Congressman Heck says he is going to Washington to do his job, but he won't give Nevadans an answer on whether the United States Senate should do its job and take up the vacancy on the Supreme Court. I once again urge Congressman Heck to join me in calling on his Party's leaders in Washington to do their jobs and take up the Supreme Court vacancy. The American people do not have the luxury of going a whole year without doing their jobs, neither should the politicians in Washington."
